Visitors to this weekend’s Park Ave Summer Art Fest are encouraged to take notice of temporary parking signs posted on side streets, and to take advantage of shuttle buses and additional parking options that will be available this year.
Residents and merchants from the Park Avenue neighborhood will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, to begin hanging hundreds of temporary parking signs along side streets in preparation for the 36th annual festival, which will take place on Aug. 4 and 5. The "YES YOU CAN" and "NO YOU CAN’T" parking signs are designed to help motorists avoid confusion, ticketing and towing during the festival.
Free parking and shuttle bus service will be available to transport visitors from two designated lots, which are located at Monroe Square on Monroe Avenue and at Gleason Works, 1000 University Ave. (enter lot from Elton Street). Shuttle buses will be available to transport visitors from these lots during the festival for $1 per person, round trip. The shuttles run continuously from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
There will also be $5 parking open to festival-goers only (not artists or exhibitors) behind the Talmudical Institute at the corner of Brunswick Street and Park Avenue.
The Park Ave Summer Art Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5. For more information, visit RochesterEvents.com.
