CDS Monarch Inc. in Rochester is enlisting area residents to help the organization win a $25,000 Home Depot gift card by voting daily throughout August in The Home Depot Foundation’s second annual Aprons in Action Facebook contest.

Voting has all ready begun and runs through Aug. 31 at facebook.com/homedepotfoundation. If CDS Monarch receives the most votes during the month they will win the $25,000 prize to help fund necessary remodeling projects at The Nucor House, a residence for Veterans in the Warrior Salute program, and will have the opportunity to compete for the grand prize of $250,000 at the end of the year-long program.

In the August round of the competition, CDS Monarch is competing against three other veterans-focused organizations across the country including Marine Corps League in Pocatello, Idaho, Lone Star Veterans Association in Houston and HandsOn Bay Area in San Francisco. The runner-up organizations will receive $5,000 in The Home Depot gift cards.

The final percentages of votes for each nonprofit will be posted on The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation’s Facebook pages at 9 a.m. ET on Sept. 1.
