Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Blvd., Rochester, will close its 2016-17 ESL Wilson Stage season with “Million Dollar Quartet” on May 30-June 25.
On Dec. 4, 1956, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins got together at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, for what would become one of the greatest jam sessions ever. Created by Floyd Mutrux with Colin Escott, the play includes “Great Balls of Fire,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk the Line” and “Hound Dog.”
The team includes Adam Koch, scenic design; Amanda Doherty, costume design; Kirk Bookman, lighting design; Ian Hildreth, sound design; and John Michael Presney, music director. The cast features Taylor Gray as Lewis, John Michael Presney as Perkins, Trent Rowland as Presley and Sky Seals as Cash.
