Lilac Festival organizers recently announced the event will have American Sign Language interpreters for its opening ceremony May 12 and all headlining music performances throughout the festival’s 10-day duration.
This is the first time that Lilac Festival has offered ASL interpreters for performances.
Rochester natives Terri Reisinger and Kim Billyard will interpret during Curious George Days on May 15-16 with WXXI.
This year’s festival lineup includes Start Making Sense, Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution, Get the Led Out, Skycoasters, The Mowgli’s, Ripe, Lettuce, Gedeon Luke and the People, Rusted Root, The Grahams, Jonny Lang, Quinn Sullivan, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Kat Wright, Zac Brown Tribute Band and Turkuaz. The festival will run May 12-21.
