WXXI recently announced highlights of its May radio and TV program schedule.
“Backstage Pass with James VanDemark” will air at 1 p.m. May 2 on Classical 91.5. Host Julia Figueras will talk with double bassist and Eastman School of Music professor VanDemark about his 40 years of teaching.
“Food — Delicious Science” will air at 10 p.m. Wednesdays on May 17-31 on WXXI-TV. The three-part series will examine the physics, chemistry and biology that lie hidden in food.
“Masterpiece: Dark Angel” will air at 9 p.m. May 21 on WXXI-TV. “Downton Abbey” actress Joanne Froggatt will take on the role as Victorian poisoner Mary Ann Cotton in the two-part drama.
“The National Memorial Day Concert 2017” will broadcast at 8 p.m. May 28 on WXXI-TV to honor servicemen and women, their families and all those who died while serving the country with co-hosts Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna.
“Front Lines: A Selected Shorts Memorial Day Special” will air at 9 p.m. May 28 on AM 1370 with repeats at 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. May 30. Listeners will hear four works that look at the experience of war in different ways.
