Investigators say two brothers, ages 9 and 11, were ejected during the rollover crash early Monday morning on I-90 in the town of Manchester.

State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened on the New York State Thruway.

The crash happened around 5:45 Monday morning on I-90 in the Town of Manchester. When Troopers arrived at the scene, they found a single vehicle overturned and on its side in the right lane.

Two boys, ages 9 and 11, were pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver was taken to Strong Hospital in critical condition. An adult female passenger was also taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say the two brothers and their mother are from the Buffalo area. They were returning home from Brooklyn.

We know the initial accident only involved one car. It appears the male driver veered off the road, hit a guardrail, bounced back and the car flipped.  The two children were ejected during the roll over. Right now police believe at least one of the kids who was ejected was unknowingly hit by a car that was passing by.

State Police say a Honda may have unknowingly struck one of the children. The owner of the Honda was found about 10 miles down the road, and said she thought she had run over debris.

The Thruway was closed between Geneva and Manchester but has since reopened.
