The board and volunteers of the Penfield Ecumenical Food Shelf would like to offer our sincere thanks to the Penfield community on behalf of the guests that we served during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons.
It truly was a community support team that included school children collecting food items, churches, businesses, civic organizations and even individual families providing both food and monetary donations. Thanks also to so very many of you who took tags from the giving trees to provide gifts for the children of our guests at Christmas time. Through your generosity, we served 154 families at Thanksgiving and 159 families at Christmas a complete meal including turkey, milk, canned goods, margarine, rolls, fresh fruits and vegetables and dessert.
The PEFS is also so very grateful for the ongoing financial support that allows us to continue to offer nonperishable and fresh food to more than 85 families each week.
