The New York State Council on the Arts and the Preservation League of New York State recently awarded $10,000 to David Hochstein Memorial Music School Inc. in Rochester.
Hochstein was one of 26 applicants in 18 counties to receive a grant, totaling $202,000.
Preserve New York makes grants for historic structure reports, cultural landscape reports, cultural resource surveys and building condition reports.
“With the announcement of the 2016 awards, the total support provided by Preserve New York since its launch in 1993 is over $2.2 million to 346 projects statewide,” said Jay DiLorenzo, Preservation League president. “Preserve New York has a long track record of bolstering local preservation efforts and delivering a strong return on investment.”
Applications are now available to eligible municipalities and nonprofit organizations. A total of $306,678 is available in 2017, and the application deadline is March 27, 2017. Prospective applicants must discuss proposed projects with Preservation League staff before receiving an application.
