Sangeeta Gajendra has been named clinical chief of Community Dentistry for Eastman Dental.
The office is part of Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Ave.
Gajendra's duties include responsibility for all clinical, human resources and financial oversight of Eastman Dentals outreach sites.
Her research includes writings on oral effects of smoking, oral health in patients with AIDS and the oral health status of children in foster care.
Gajendra completed her dental degree at A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences in India and her master's of public health at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She has won the Basil G. Bibby Award for Outstanding Scientific Merit from the Rochester Section of the American Association of Dental Research.
