The Penfield Public Library will host its 11th annual "Spring Into Arts Celebration" beginning March 3.
The event will host a number of art-centered events. There will be programs for all ages. The event begins with two sessions of the "Clifford, The Big Red Dog Celebration" from 11 a.m. to noon and 1:30-2:30 p.m. The celebration is recommended for children ages 3 to 9 who are accompanied by an adult.
Other programs for children include a performance by the Boland School of Irish Dance on March 4, Green Teakettle Music of Ireland on March 24 and Women in Tin Pan Alley on March 10.
There are also a number of events and activities scheduled for kids in grades six to 12. The library will host the 35th annual teen poetry contest from March 1 through April 30. Students will also be able to take part in a variety of challenges inspired by "The Hunger Games."
The signature event of the celebration, "If All of Rochester Read the Same Book," will be March 28. Debra Dean, author of "The Madonnas of Leningrad," will be in attendance to discuss her first novel about the siege of Leningrad.
