The Genesee Center for the Arts and Education will host photography classes at Community Darkroom in the historic firehouse at 713 Monroe Ave., Rochester, starting Sept. 18.
Participants can learn the manual controls on a film or digital camera, take portraits using studio lights, make black and white prints in a darkroom, use the sun to create blue images on hand-coated fabric or hand-apply oils and watercolors to black and white prints.
Guests will also learn the basics of Photoshop and the basics of InDesign to make a business card and adjust other images.
