The Workers’ Compensation System can be frustrating, confusing and difficult to understand, according to consulting experts.

From 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 16, the Rochester Business Alliance is hosting a special session - New York State Workers’ Compensation 101 - designed to provide employer participants with strong working knowledge needed to navigate in this arena.

The two-hour workshop, presented by Cathleen McKeown, vice president of Workers’ Compensation Consulting Services at First Niagara Risk Management, will discuss the basics of the law, forms, benefits and overall employer responsibilities. McKeown will also provide expert tips on how employers can work with their insurance carriers to effectively manage their company’s workers’ comp program.

Cost for the program is $50 for Rochester Business Alliance members and $85 for guests. To register, log on to RochesterBusinessAlliance and click on this course in the Calendar of Events. For more information, email Amy.Platenik@RBAlliance.com.
